Agartala, Tripura, 20th of February, 2026 : The educational interventions under the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) have yielded encouraging improvements across tribal areas of the state, largely due to the proactive role of the Tribal Welfare Department in financing, fund allocation, and continuous monitoring of implementation.

As the nodal department, the Tribal Welfare Department has ensured timely release and strategic allocation of funds to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Secondary Education Department, enabling smooth execution of academic reforms in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). This strong financial backing has supported large-scale student and teacher assessments, structured teacher professional development, and the development of quality classroom resources tailored to the needs of tribal schools.
Beyond financing, the Tribal Welfare Department has been actively reviewing progress on a regular basis, closely monitoring outcomes, resolving implementation bottlenecks, and ensuring accountability at every level. Periodic review meetings and field-level follow-ups have strengthened coordination between the PIU, SCERT, and district authorities, resulting in effective ground-level execution.

This consistent financial support and oversight have translated into measurable educational improvements, including enhanced teacher capacity, better classroom practices, improved foundational learning materials in local tribal languages, and increased academic support in remote schools.
Through its strategic leadership, funding commitment, and rigorous monitoring mechanism, the Tribal Welfare Department has played a decisive role in driving impactful and sustainable educational transformation in the tribal regions of Tripura under TRESP.
