Dharmanagar, Tripura, 6th of April, 2026 : Political tension is steadily rising ahead of the 56- Dharmanagar by-election scheduled for April 9. In this context, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a massive rally in Dharmanagar town on Monday evening, drawing significant public attention as it passed through key roads of the city.Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha was present at the rally, energizing party workers and supporters with his participation. Other prominent leaders included North District BJP President Kajal Das, BJP candidate for Dharmanagar constituency Jahar Chakraborty, State Minister and district election in-charge Sudhangshu Das, BJP Vice President Tapas Bhattacharya, along with several senior leaders from district and mandal levels.

As evening fell, the entire town was draped in saffron colors. Thousands of party workers and supporters joined the rally carrying party flags, banners, and placards with slogans such as “BJP again in power” and “Vote for the lotus for development.” The scale and disciplined nature of the procession caught the attention of the general public.During the rally, Chief Minister Manik Saha greeted people and delivered brief speeches at various points. He stated, “To accelerate the development of Dharmanagar, it is essential to ensure the victory of the BJP candidate. Our government believes in development -oriented politics and is working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.” He also claimed that BJP remains the only viable option to maintain peace, stability, and continuity of development in the state.
BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty, in his address, said, “The people of Dharmanagar want development and stability. We are reaching out to every household with that goal.” He expressed confidence that he would win the by-election with a significant margin and fulfill public expectations.North District BJP President Kajal Das remarked that the rally was not just a political event but a reflection of public support. “The people of Dharmanagar have already made up their minds—they will vote for development,” he said.Security arrangements were also tightened during the rally. The police administration increased surveillance across the town and took adequate measures to prevent any untoward incidents.Overall, Monday’s grand rally sent a clear message about BJP’s organizational strength and political momentum ahead of the by-election.
