Agartala, Tripura, 5th of May, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Tuesday (5th May, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 15.695 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 3.30 PM Railway Police managed to catch two person namely (1) Sri Bishal Debbarma @ Boo (20) S/O-Lt. Biswajit Debbarma of Hazamara, PS- Sidhai, West Tripura, and 2) Sri Kunal Debbarma @ Bishal (14) S/O-Sri Rajesh Debbarma of Hazamara, PS- Sidhai, West Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 15.695 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in their pitthu bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 03 Lakh approx in black market.
Accordingly we have detained them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP028, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
