Khowai, Tripura, 28th of July, 2026 : On specific information of the Khowai Police secret operation was launched Tant Chowmuhani area of Khowai town and recovered a large quantity of illegal intoxicating Eskuf cough syrup on Monday (27th July, 2026).
According to the sources, Khowai Police arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Tant Chowmuhani and seized total 43 nos. ESkuf cough syrup.
According to police sources, the arrested individual has been identified as Pallab Gope. He is reportedly a dismissed 10,323 teacher, police said.
A police team led by Ranjit Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of the Subhash Park Outpost, conducted the raid. During a search of the accused, police recovered 43 bottles of illegal intoxicating Eskuf cough syrup from his possession.
The accused has been taken into police custody for further interrogation. Investigators are working to trace the origin of the seized Eskuf cough syrup and ascertain whether a larger network is involved. A case has been registered, and legal action has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the law.
