Agartala, Tripura, 28th July, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Monday (27th July, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total 150 nos. ESkuf cough syrup.
According to sources, on Monday at about 09.05 PM AGT GRPS staff catch two person namely Md. Nurun Nabi(23) @ Tanbir. S/O- Md-Shekh Kamal Of- Baler Dhepa (Uttar Para) Shobhapur P/O Rabindra Ngar, Ps- Sonamura, Dist- Sepahijala Tripura and Probesh Das (23) S/O- Sri Balaram Das, Of-Maa Kali Lane, Satsanga Asram Road Vivekananda Road. Ps- Sadar Thana, Silchar, Dist.- Cachar, State- Assam at At Agartala railway station on platform no-01 in front of parking area in between RPF post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 150 nos Eskuf Cough Syrup Bottle in 02 nos bags.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be 3 Lakhs only.
Accordingly to GRP arrested them and seized the contraband Eskuf Cough Syrup . A specific case has regd vide AGT GRPS case no- 2026/GRP/049 dt- 27/07/2026 U/S- 21(C)/29 of NDPS Act.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
