Bangalore, Karnataka, 28th July, 2026 : East Point College of Engineering & Technology (EPCET) hosted its Graduation Day 2026 at its campus “Jnanaprabha” marking a proud milestone as graduating engineering students stepped into the next chapter of their professional journey. In celebration of academic excellence, individual departmental awards were presented alongside special recognitions for the best student of each department and the best student of the Institution.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. G. Parameshwara, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister of Karnataka and Guest of Honor Sri K. Govindaraj, Member of Legislative Council, Government of Karnataka. The occasion was also graced by Smt. B. L. Ramadevi Venkatpathi, Chairperson, East Point Group of Institutions (EPGI); Pramod Gowda and Rajiv Gowda, CEOs of East Point Group of Institutions, Bangalore.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. G Parameshwara, who addressed the students. Congratulating the 527 undergraduate and postgraduate students across multiple engineering disciplines, he wished them success in their careers and urged them to prepare themselves for the challenges of a rapidly changing world and take pride in India’s world-class technical education standards. He highlighted that Indian graduates excel globally in technology and medicine. Dr. Parameshwara also stated that India has nearly 6,000 engineering colleges, admitting around 15 lakh students and producing nearly 10 lakh engineering graduates every year. No other country produces engineering graduates on this scale.

Dr. Parameshwara said that India has emerged as a global leader in information technology (IT) services, with Bengaluru and Karnataka playing a major role. Multinational companies based here are not only creating jobs for our youth but also delivering technology and services to the world. Companies are willing to invest even in tier-two cities because Karnataka offers one of the world’s largest talent pools.
“Karnataka leads the nation’s start-up ecosystem, enabling young innovators to convert ideas into practical solutions. We are witnessing the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence in decision-making and research, alongside India’s growing prowess in aerospace and defense technology. Our young graduates must be prepared not only to face these changes but also to lead them and we must become a front-runner in education, technology and innovation,” said Dr. G. Parameshwara, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister of Karnataka.

Dr. Pradipkumar Dixit, Principal, East Point College of Engineering & Technology, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the institution’s academic excellence, achievements, milestones and key placement accomplishments over the past academic year.
