Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of August, 2026 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that there is currently a renaissance in the blood donation movement in the state. Along with creating a sense of spirituality through blood donation, a sweet bond is developed between the blood donor and the recipient.

“Therefore, everyone should be encouraged to come forward to donate blood,” said Dr Saha.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating a blood donation camp organized by Agiye Chalo Sangha at Melarmath on Saturday (1st August, 2026).

At the event, the Chief Minister said that blood donation is one of the finest examples of human values.

“A dying patient can be saved through blood donation. Therefore, various clubs and social organisations in the state should organise more blood donation camps. Along with donating blood, emphasis should also be given to preserving blood. Arrangements should be made to store blood in blood banks as per requirements,” said Dr Saha.

He said that at one point, club culture in the state used to create an atmosphere of chaos.

“Currently, various social activities are being carried out by creating an organized environment within the clubs. Moreover, the active participation of women in various social programmes of clubs is gradually increasing, which is good for society,” said Dr Saha.

The Chief Minister said that the present state government has brought radical changes in the health infrastructure of the state.

“The benefits of this are reaching people from rural areas to cities. Due to the development of the state’s health infrastructure, the number of patients being referred outside the state has significantly reduced,” he added.

Amidst the other distinguished leaders there were Agartala Municipal Corporation Ward No. 34 Corporator Janhvi Das, Secretary of Agiye Chalo Sangha Sumanta Gupta, President Chanchal Nandi and many other distinguished dignitaries were present at the event.
