Agartala, Tripura, 21st of August, 2026 : The state cabinet has decided to fill 1,177 vacant posts under various departments and create 305 new posts. Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press meet at the secretariat, Agartala on Thursday (20th August, 2026) informed that 916 Constable (male and female) will be filled under the home department. For this, the concerned department will conduct written examination, physical fitness test and viva.
The Tourism Minister further informed that recruitment to 219 LDC posts under the health and family welfare department will take place through JRBT.

Twenty-seven Group C-Technical pests will be filled under the GA (printing and stationery) department. Six LDC and nine MTS will be recruited through JRBT in the tribal welfare department. He also informed that in the coming days GRP stations will be established at Bishramganj, Udaipur, Belonia and Sabroom rail stations. For this purpose 105 posts have been created. Out of 105 posts, 3 will be Sub-Inspector, 11-Woman Sub-Inspector, 9-Assistant Sub-Inspector, 21-Woman Head Constable, 56 Woman Constable and 5-Constable Driver posts.
In addition, under the higher education department 200 Assistant Professor posts have been created. Initiative to fill these posts will be taken accordingly in the coming days. He also informed that the cabinet has decided to establish Shri Shri University at Bishalgarh under Ravi Shankar Trust in Bengaluru. Under this upcoming university courses from diploma to other higher education courses will be offered.
