Agartala, Tripura, 8th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of Sports Sub-Committee of the Agartala Press Club organized meeting on Tuesday (8th September, 2026). The Sports Sub-Committee finalised the schedule for various upcoming sporting events during the meeting.
According to the decisions taken, the Chinese Checkers and Table Tennis competitions will be held on September 20. The Carrom Singles competition will take place on September 21, while the Badminton Singles competitions for both men and women will be organized on September 28.
Members interested in participating in these competitions have been requested to submit their names at the Agartala Press Club by September 16.
The Sports Sub-Committee also prepared a tentative calendar for the Press Club’s upcoming major sporting activities. The Annual Sports Competition is expected to take place in January next year, followed by the highly anticipated Agartala Press Club Cricket Premier Tournament in February.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Sports Sub-Committee Chairman Alok Ghosh, Convenor Abhishek Dey, Joint Convenors Suprabhat Debnath and Ranjan Roy, along with other members of the committee.
The Press Club’s Sports Sub-Committee has also been actively organizing sporting events in recent days. It successfully conducted Ludo and Chess competitions under the indoor games category, along with a Football Tournament as an outdoor event.
