Mumbai, Maharashtra, 11th of September, 2026 : Suchak Cooperative Housing Society in Madh Island is once again in the spotlight over serious allegations. At a press conference held at Shubham Villa, members Mehul Mehta, Pramod Tulsiyan and Reshma Patel raised several questions about the management’s functioning and presented documents in support of their claims.
The members alleged a lack of financial transparency in the society and claimed that inappropriate charges were allegedly being collected under various heads, including water connections. Pramod Tulsiyan, owner of Shubham Villa, claimed that despite not using the society’s facilities, he was being asked to pay a “facilitation charge.” Referring to his commercial documents, he described the action as alleged discrimination.
The biggest question was raised over an alleged demand of around ₹4 lakh per plot, with the total amount reportedly estimated at nearly ₹2 crore. Allegations were also raised regarding the alleged occupation of land worth crores of rupees, records being kept at a private residence, and the presence of defaulting members in the committee. The members demanded an independent investigation into the matter, along with an audit of the society’s financial and administrative records. At the time of writing, no official response had been received from the society management.
