Amarpur, Tripura, 12th of August 2025 : With the initiative of Tipra Motha Party a yarn distribution programme has been conducted here in Tuidu community hall under Ampi Nagar block in Gomati Tripura today. On this occasion a large number of indigenous women from different places have assembled here in the programme venue. As per the report, the ADC administration has taken this initiative to motivate indigenous women to sustain their traditional cultural garments weaving and utility to inspire the new generation which is the identity of the indigenous people. A large number of women were provided yarn by the ADC administration to promote their home weaving production.
Addressing the gathering MDC Sadagar Kalai has said, “Our indigenous culture and costumes are our identity and we have to preserve and promote it. Our indigenous women are active in weaving; producing garments and identical costumes since last many centuries. So, our target is to create more spirit and enthusiasm amidst our women.”
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Sanjay Jamatia, Ampi block president, Rathindra Debbarma, ZDO, Ampi, Debarshi Jamatia, YTF president, Kalija Kalai, TWF president, Deb Sadhan Jamatia, social activist, and many others remained present in this yarn distribution event. After availing free yarn women were found cheerful and thanked the ADC administration and 23 constituency MDC Sadagar Kalai for the generous initiative.
