Ampi, 26th of November 2024 : AR bamboo plantation project under Tripura SCATFORM project has appeared a good income source for the poor indigenous communities in Tuidu beat. Many indigenous beneficiaries from Lungfung JFMC and Punlunga JFMC under Tuidu forest beat of Ampi Nagar RMU in Gomati Tripura are availing good benefit from AR (artificial Regeneration) Bamboo Plantation project.
As per the report, in the session 2022- 23 Tuidu beat has implemented 20 hectares of AR bamboo plantation under two JFMC committees in Palku VC in Ampi Nagar block. 15 hectares under Lungfung JFMC and 5 hectares under Punlunga JFMC. In some areas bamboo production has been initiated and JFMC beneficiaries are selling bamboos with high cost to bamboo dealers from which they are earning much from this project. The poor deprived indigenous families have gained a good durable income source without any capital investment to manage their family expenditure. Aiming to generate better project implementation under the guidance and supervision of the beat officer Dharmajit Sinha proper training tips have been provided to the JFMC beneficiaries to promote their bamboo project. Additionally the concerned forest authority provides them garden fencing, weeds cleaning facility etc.
One JFMC beneficiary said, “This hilly areas were useless earlier but the forest department has provided us bamboo project and now we are having a good income source from this bamboo garden as well we can utilise bamboos for our family requirements.There is no doubt after some years bamboo production will be accelerated and our income will be enhanced.”
