Dharmanagar, Tripura, 6th of August, 2026 : Tension gripped Ward No. 2 of Sarala Gram Panchayat under Kadamtala Police Station in North Tripura’s Dharmanagar subdivision on Tuesday after a clash broke out between two groups over a financial dispute. Four people from both sides were injured in the incident, with two of them currently undergoing treatment at Dharmanagar District Hospital.
According to local sources, Abhijit Pal had lent ₹1.80 lakh to Debajit Deb under a court agreement. A dispute later arose over the repayment of the loan. Debajit Deb claimed that he had already repaid ₹1.20 lakh.However, Abhijit Pal alleged that he had received only ₹30,000 and that the remaining amount was still unpaid.The disagreement over the outstanding money had reportedly been continuing for some time. On Tuesday, a fresh argument between the two sides escalated into a physical altercation, leaving four people injured.
The injured were initially taken to Kadamtala Primary Health Centre for first aid. Following preliminary treatment, doctors referred them to Dharmanagar District Hospital. Upon arrival, Abhijit Pal and Biswajit Deb were admitted for further treatment, while the other two injured persons were treated and discharged.One of the parties stated that a complaint has been lodged with Kadamtala Police Station regarding the incident. The other side is also preparing to file a counter-complaint. The incident has created tension in the locality, and the situation is being closely monitored.
