Government Is Implementing Various Initiatives To Transform Tripura Into An Education Hub: Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman.

Agartala, Tripura, 6th of August, 2026 : The Tripura Government is implementing various initiatives to transform the state into an educational hub and enhance the quality of higher education. Hon’ble Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman stated this while addressing an interactive session titled “Higher Education Dialogue: Building the Future of Higher Education” at Sonar Tori State Guest House on Wednesday (5th August, 2026). The programme was organized by the Higher Education Department.

Students from Tripura Central University, TIT, Polytechnic Colleges, Art College, Law College, College of Teachers Education (Kumarghat), IASE College, and various degree colleges participated in the discussion. Speaking at the event, Minister Kishore Barman said that students are the future of the nation. He emphasized that programme was organized to identify existing challenges in higher educational institutions and explore ways to resolve them quickly and effectively. He noted that students, teachers, and staff members are best placed to understand the issues faced by their respective institutions.

The Minister assured that the department would carefully consider the suggestions and opinions shared by the participating students. He further stated that the state government has a clear vision of developing Tripura into an educational hub and stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve this goal.

During the dialogue, students from universities and colleges shared their views and recommendations on the National Education Policy (NEP), institutional challenges, and other issues related to higher education. Director of Higher Education Animesh Debbarma delivered the welcome address. OSD Dr. Sandeep Chakraborty and OSD Biswajit Majumdar were also present at the programme.
