With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura organized ‘Course Completion Certificate Distribution Programme’ of Tripura Film and Television Institute (TFTI) in collaboration with Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala on Wednesday (7th June, 2023).
Tripura Film & Television Institute (TFTI) started its journey on November 28 last year. The students are studying in this institution under the management of Department of Information and Culture in a joint initiative with Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute of Kolkata under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Central Government. During the academic year 2022-23, 48 students have successfully completed their training in four short-term courses namely Screen Acting, Film Appreciation, Production Management for Cinema and Television & News Anchoring, Reporting and News Room Automation. Certificates were handed over to the students of the first batch in the ceremony. The Chief Minister along with the guests handed over certificates to them.
“Tripura Film and Television Institute is a pillar of Tripura’s development. We never thought that such an institute would be created here. The State Government wants to build a bigger institute”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the Certificate distribution program of TFTI. The Chief Minister also added that our State has rich culture and art. To further strengthen the unity and cohesion of the state, the traditions, culture and culture of each individual should be retained. The congratulated the 48 students who successfully passed the short-term course and received their certificates.
Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Secretary ICA, Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. He said it has been decided to launch some short-term courses in digital cinematography, digital editing, film direction and sound recording and designing this year. He also added that the State Government is subsidizing 90 percent of the course fee for each course. Students have to pay 10% course fee but it is very expensive to go abroad and do these courses. He wished and congratulated the 48 students trained in this educational institution.
Director of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) Himansu Sekhar Khatua also spoke at the event. The MoU was signed on this occasion for the next phase between the State Government and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI). Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee has concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks.
