Dharmanagar, Tripura, 24th of April 2026 : The poor condition of the road in front of the Dewanpasha Panchayat office along the Dharmanagar–Kailashahar road in North Tripura has been causing severe inconvenience to daily life for a long time. Large potholes, broken and worn-out asphalt, and waterlogging have made the stretch highly dangerous, leading to frequent accidents involving both pedestrians and vehicle drivers.Local residents allege that the road remains in the same neglected state throughout the year, whether during the monsoon or dry season. The situation has become especially risky for motorbike and scooter riders, many of whom lose control and suffer injuries.

According to locals, accidents occur almost every day, yet no concrete steps have been taken for a permanent solution. What has further surprised and angered residents is that administrative officials regularly use this road multiple times a day, yet no effective measures have been implemented to address the issue. As a result, public frustration continues to grow.Residents are demanding immediate repair and proper maintenance of the road, warning that a major accident could occur at any time if prompt action is not taken. Swift intervention from the administration is now the need of the hour.
