Distribution Of Benefits To The Fish Farmers Of West Tripura District Under Govt. Of Tripura.

Agartala, Tripura, 28th of November, 2024 : With the initiative of Fisheries department Government of Tripura Distribution Programme of financial assistance at Sukanta Academy Auditorium, Agartala on Thursday (28th November, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble SCW, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the gathering  Hon’ble SCW, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das  said, assistance to fish farmers in various projects in West Tripura district Initiatives have been taken to expand the area of ​​fish farming in the state. The state Government has taken initiatives to make the state self-reliant in fish production. With this aim, assistance is being provided to fish farmers in the state in various projects. Besides, initiatives have been taken to expand the area of ​​fish farming in the state. The Fisheries Minister said that the state now has a demand of about 32 thousand metric tons of fish. The fisheries minister also added that fish has to be imported from neighboring countries like Bangladesh as per the demand. If the state can be self-reliant in fish production, it is possible to meet the demand of 32,000 metric tons of fish very easily. Therefore, assistance is being provided to fish farmers in various projects to increase fish production in the state.

268 fish farmers are being provided assistance in this program. Among them, 200 families have been provided financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 each under the Mukhyamantri Matsya Vikas Yojana, 4 people have been given a three-wheeler with an ice box, 4 people have been given a bicycle with an ice box, 1 person has been given a live fish vending center under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. 46 people have been given financial assistance under the Flood Relief Fund, and 7 people have been issued work orders for digging new ponds. The Fisheries Minister and presents guests handed over this assistance to 10 beneficiaries from each subdivision of the district.

Deepa D. Nair Secretary of Animal Resources Development Department  Animal Resources Development Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.  Director of Fisheries Department Santosh Das, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, officials and many other dignitaries were present in the event.
