Dharmanagar, Tripura, 19th of May 2026 : The family of Rahul Kishore Roy, councillor of Ward No. 5 of Dharmanagar Municipal Council, who died under mysterious and abnormal circumstances, met Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday demanding a fair investigation and exemplary punishment for the real culprits involved in the incident. On Tuesday, Rahul Kishore Roy’s mother issued a statement detailing the entire matter.
The family expressed anger and disappointment over the failure to take appropriate action against the actual accused even after a long period since Rahul Kishore Roy’s death. According to the family, despite approaching the administration and investigating agencies several times after the incident, there has been little progress in the case and no strict action has been taken against the main accused persons.
During the meeting with the Chief Minister, Rahul’s mother emotionally narrated the entire incident and demanded a speedy and impartial investigation to ensure punishment for those responsible.The Chief Minister listened carefully to the family’s concerns and assured them that the government would take necessary steps to identify the real culprits involved in the case and bring them under the purview of law at the earliest. He also assured that the concerned administrative authorities would be directed to treat the matter with utmost importance.Following the meeting, Rahul’s family members stated that although they felt somewhat hopeful after the Chief Minister’s assurance, they would continue their movement for justice until the actual culprits are punished. The incident has also intensified public demand in the locality for a prompt and fair investigation.
