GST Day Celebrated By Finance Department, Taxes Organization Government Of Tripura.

With the initiative of Finance Department, Taxes Organization Government of Tripura celebrated the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Day at Town Hall, Agartala on Saturday (1st July, 2023). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the programme.

“The sum collected from taxes is used for development of the country. The taxpayers play an important role in the overall development of the country. GST was first launched in the country on this day in 2017. GST has proved to be a helpful procedure in terms of tax paying although primarily businessmen had to face few problems. As the tax paying process got more transparent, so has the amount of tax collection increased”, Hon’ble Finance, Planning Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said at the celebration ceremony of Goods and Services Tax (GST) Day. The Minister also added that different works are being implemented successfully in the state along with other states of the country for welfare of people under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There has been huge improvement in rail communication system besides construction of 6 National Highways in the state.

Secretary of Finance department Brijesh Pandey, Additional Secretary of Finance department Akinchan Sarkar also spoke on the occasion. The Finance Minister along with other guests handed over certificates and memento to them. Chief Commissioner of State Tax Rakhi Biswas, Joint Director of CGST Samuel Waipu, officials of Finance, Taxes Department and many others remained present in the celebration programme. Assistant Tax Commissioner Dibakar Chandra Dey has concluded the ceremony with vote of thanks.
