Guwahati, Assam, 8th of September, 2026 : The first annual ‘Guru-Shishya Milan’ programme, organised by the Lok Kala Pariksha Parishad, Assam, was held recently at the Madhavdev International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra. The programme was graced by Padma Bhushan awardee and eminent Nrityacharya Jatin Goswami as the chief guest.
Certificates of evaluation were presented to students from across Assam who successfully cleared the Prarambhik-level examination conducted by the Lok Kala Pariksha Parishad, Assam. Gurus of dance institutions registered with the Parishad were also felicitated on the occasion.

Organised with the objective of strengthening the bond between gurus and disciples and promoting the practice of folk arts, the programme witnessed the participation of gurus, students, parents and art enthusiasts from different parts of the state.
The programme conveyed a positive message towards the preservation and promotion of Assam’s folk arts, and encouraged the younger generation to take a greater interest in the state’s rich cultural heritage.
