Health Secretary Kiran Gitte Emphasizes Modernization & Digitalization Of Health Services During His Visit To Amarpur Sub-divisional Hospital.

Amarpur, Tripura, 24th of August, 2026 : With the objective of developing and ensuring delivery of healthcare services upto the villages, the health secretary Kiran Gitte visited Amarpur Subdivisional Hospital on Sunday (23rd August, 2026) During the visit he looked around different wards of the hospital and inspected the real status of healthcare infrastructure available there. He was accompanied by director of healthcare services Dr. Debashree Debbarma, DM of Gomati district Rinku Lather, CMO of Gomati district Dr. Kamal Reang and other concerned officials.

After the hospital visit, the health secretary spoke to the media and presented various facts before them. He informed that during the last several years the infrastructure of Amarpur Subdivisional Hospital has improved a lot. Earlier all the medical tests used to be done through outside agencies, now most of the tests are being done at the hospital itself. At the moment digital X-ray, ultra-sonography, UGC and advanced operation theatre and modern treatment facilities for mother and children are available there. Necessary machineries for Thyroid and CBC tests will soon be functional. At present seven doctors are serving at the hospital, but the secretary assured that the demand for posting anesthesiologist, medicine specialist, orthopedic specialist and additional junior doctors would be placed before the Chief Minister.

Everyday Amarpur subdivisional hospital witnesses the footfall of around 150 patients in its outdoor section and 30-40 patients are referred by the hospital to Udaipur or district hospital every month. He said that the department aims to bring down the number of referral patients to zero by improving the infrastructure further, so that the people of remote areas can avail of good medical care near their homes.

OT service is functional at Amarpur hospital, but he said, to maintain uninterrupted OT and emergency services adequate blood supply is mandatory. To ensure adequate stock of blood, he urged the local clubs, social organizations and villagers to organize voluntary blood donation camps. He also informed that the work is ongoing for launching digital and paperless service at the Amarpur hospital in the line of Civil Hospital in Agartala. In order to make healthcare service faster, easier and 100 per cent digital, Integrated Health Management System and Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA card) have been launched. In the coming days everything from doctor’s prescription to X-ray, UGC and other test reports as well as discharge certificate will be sent to the patient by mail. This will save time and money of common people.

After the visit of the health secretary, health director Dr. Debashree Debbarma conducted a review meeting at the hospital in the presence of CMO Dr. Kamal Reang, SDMO (Udaipur) Dr. Biswajit Debnath, doctors and programme managers. After the meeting, the director of health services informed that as per the instructions and advice of the health secretary all efforts will be made to further improve the healthcare service at the Amarpur hospital. He also informed that the water connection works to the newly built staff quarters will be soon completed and the quarters will be handed over to the respective staffs.
