Agartala, 29th of December 2023 : With the jointly initiative of Social Welfare & Social Education and Youth Affairs & Sports department Government of Tripura Khelo Tripura Para Games 2023 organized at Swami Vivekananda Ground, Agartala on Friday (29th December, 2023). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Khelo Tripura Para Games 2023 by lighting the lamp.
“Now there is no difference between ordinary people and Divyangjan. Divyangjans are no less in developing talent and establishing themselves. They are also able to show their position in the society if they get the right opportunities. The present Central and State Governments are taking a leading role in the upliftment and dignity of the Divyangjan.” Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at inaugural ceremony of Khelo Tripura Para Games 2023. He said that currently the Divyangjan children of the State are able to show their talent in various fields. They are awarded in various fields of education, sports in the state and abroad. He said that Divyangjans have been given proper status only after the formation of the new government at the Central under the leadership of the Prime Minister. The term ‘ Divyangjan’ is also given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government. He also added that so far around 36 thousand persons have been registered in the Divyangjan list in the State. A monthly pension of 2 thousand rupees is being given to Divyangjan over 15 thousand. There are plans to provide this pension to more Divyangjans in the future.
