Agartala, Tripura, 22nd July, 2026 : The traditional Kharchi Puja at Khayerpur in Old Agartala, Tripura has started from today (22nd July, 2026). Kharchi Puja is a festival where the 14 Gods that comprise the dynastic deity. The rituals are observed for a whole week in the temple dedicated to the fourteen Gods at Old Agartala. The celebrations last for seven days and people from all communities participate in the festival.
The traditional Kharchi Puja will continue till July 28, 2026.

The fourteen (14) Gods are Shiva, Durga, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Vani or Saraswati, Kumar or Kartikeya, Ganapa or Ganesha, Brahma, Prithivi, Abdhi or Samudra, Ganga, Sikhi or Agni, Kamadeva and Himadri.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Kharchi Fair 2026 on the occasion of traditional Kharchi Puja festival at Chaturdash Devata (14 Goddesses) Temple premises in Old Agartala today. In the presence of many dignitaries the Chief Minister inaugurated the Kharchi Fair by lighting the lamp. The Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected the stalls by cutting the ribbon. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also visited fourteen Gods and offered prayers today.
