Khowai, Tripura, 24th of August, 2024 : With the initiative of Khowai District Administration a press conference organized at Khowai District Magistrate & Collector office under Khowai District on Saturday (24th August, 2024). Before the press conference, a meeting held with the officials of various departments in the Khowai District Magistrate & Collector office’s conference hall.

Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Subdivision Magistrate Megha Jain, Khowai Additional SP Prabir Paul and others officials were present in a press conference on the flood situation. On this day, the District Magistrate said that the three days of terrible floods in the entire Khowai district have caused the most damage to fisheries and departments. Roads in the entire district have been damaged due to floods. A total of 72 refugee camps were opened in the entire district.
According to the information received, about 10,000 people took refuge in refugee camps. In the refugee camps, sufficient food is provided so that the refugees do not face any difficulty in feeding. In the morning rice, Soyabean, eggs with chira are arranged. From milk to nutritious food for the children. However, the District Magistrate admits some of the weaknesses of all the refugee camps.

At present there are three camps running in Khowai sub-division and 22 camps in Teliamura sub-division. Many people’s houses have been completely destroyed by this flood. Needless to say, this flood has set back the whole district a lot.
