Khowai, 29th of April, 2024 : Police is fully committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from Tripura making “Tripura – A Drug-Free State”. The police of Khowai police station was able to recover the illegal Cannabis.
On the basis of secret information, Khowai Police has seized 160 Grams of Brown Sugar along with about ₹ 24,160 in Gopitila area under Khowai District. According to the sources of Khowai police station, the police confiscated 160 grams of brown sugar and 24,160 in cash after searching the house of Monika Debbarma in Gupi Tilla area. Besides, the police of Khowai police station arrested another drug dealer named Sheshpiar Debbarma.
According to local sources, Monika Debbarma and her family have been addicted to drugs for a long time. Even after informing the police, the police did not take any action against the woman smuggler. Finally, on Monday, the local residents united and arrested the woman with drug and handed it over to the police. NDPS has registered a case against the accused. They will be sent to court tomorrow.
