Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Organized By Tripura State AIDS Control Society, Health And Family Welfare Department, Govt. Of Tripura.

Agartala, 19th of May, 2024 : With the initiative of Tripura State AIDS Control Society, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Agartala Government Nursing College (AGNC), IGM Hospital, Agartala on Sunday (19th May, 2024). The Blood Donation programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma and other dignitaries.

Aiming to fulfill the crisis of blood in Tripura blood donation camps are going on across the state to meet the shortage of blood. As a part of that, blood donation camps are being organized by Government and Non-Government organizations.

Voluntary blood donation by Minister of Industry and Commerce, wife of Health Secretary, officials of Tripura State AIDS Control Society, employees and well-intentioned people from other sections donate blood. Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte’s wife Usha Kiran Gitte and others donated blood in this voluntary blood donation camp. A total of 128 blood donors voluntarily donated blood in this voluntary blood donation camp on this day.

Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte, Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine Department, Anjan Das, Tripura State AIDS Control Society Project Director Dr. Samarpita Dutta, Joint director of AIDS Control Society Subhrajit Bhattacharjee, officials of Tripura State AIDS Control Society and many other dignitaries were present in the blood donation programme.

Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma said, “She is happy to donate blood to save the life of the dying patient. She appealed to the people to donate blood regularly.” Health Secretary Kiran Gitte praised the organization and urged the young generation who are capable of donating blood to come forward to donate blood.

At the beginning of the program, artists performed their traditional cultural programs on the Blood Donation programme. Other officials also appreciated the initiative and thanked those who voluntarily donated blood. They expressed the hope that the Tripura State AIDS Control Society will continue such public welfare activities in the coming days.
