Teliamura, 6th of January 2024 : Police is fully committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from Tripura making “Tripura – A Drug-Free State”. The police of Mungiakami police station was able to recover the illegal Cannabis again. It was recovered on Saturday morning in the 41 mile area under Mungiakami police station on the national highway. As part the report, last night Mungiakami police station was informed that a truck with illegal Cannabis was coming on the national highway. Accordingly, the suspect vehicle was seized in a joint operation by Mungiakami police station and CRPF. The vehicle TR02H1534 has been detected adjacent to 41 mile area.
During the search, a seizure of appx. 570 kg of illegal Cannabis in 57 packets. The estimated value of seized Cannabis is approx 1 crore 14 lakhs in the international market. The police said that the driver of the car was arrested for being involved in this work. Meanwhile, Anjan Das Deputy Collector of Teliamura Sub-Division arrived on the spot after receiving the information of the incident. DCM Anjan Das and Gautam Debbarma OC of Mungiakami police station told the media, operation was based on secret information. Such operations will continue in the future.
