Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the final match of Atal Smriti Knockout Football Tournament at Fatikroy H.S School on 28th September, 2023. The final match of the tournament was played between BBB Vaivai FC vs Rajnagar Best XI of Kailashahar. At the beginning of the final match, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that win or loss will remain in sports but players must have sportsmanship spirit. The Chief Minister congratulated the football lovers of the region for the large number of people attending this sports tournament. In his welcome address on the occasion, Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das thanked the audience for presenting this tournament in an orderly and beautiful environment. He said, people of this region love football. Before the final match, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das and other guests paid tribute by placing wreaths at the portrait of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In the final match, Rajnagar Best XI FC defeated BBB Vaivai FC of Kailashahar 2-1. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha presented the champion trophy and Maruti Wagon R car to the players of the champion team Rajnagar Best XI. Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das handed over runners-up trophy and Pulsar bikes to the footballers of BBB Vaivai FC of Kailashahar.
Sabhadhipati of Unakoti Zilla Parishad Amalendu Das, Chairman of Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Sumati Das, Chairman of TIDC Nabadal Banik, District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, Superintendent of Police Kanta Jangir and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
