In respect of great CRPF martyrs road name captions have been placed in different areas related to those dedicated martyrs of Tripura. Under the able guidance of Ravideep Singh Sahi, IGP, CRPF Tripura Sector and initiative taken by the Commandant – 124 BN, CRPF Mukesh Tyagi the naming of a road on CRPF martyr Shaheed CT/GD- S.D. Debbarma of 32 BN, CRPF was organized here in Abhicharan village under Lefunga PS in Sidhai Mohanpur block, Tripura West. 32 ON, CRPF was deployed in Uttarpradesh for conducting operations against Maoists. On the 11/02/1992 troops launched and operation but the contact with Maoists could not be established. As the troops were withdrawing from the area, the Maoists waiting in an ambush, blasted on IED followed by indiscriminate firing. The troops immediately took position and a fierce encounter ensured. During the encounter, Shaheed CT/GD- S.D. Debbarma who was fighting from the front received severe blast and bullet injuries. Despite sustaining injuries, he kept on firing at the Maoists forcing them to flee from the area. Later he had succumbed due to his critical injuries and attained martyrdom.

As per the report, the above Shaheed CT/GD- S. D. Debbarma was an inhabitant of Vill Bhadramiship Para, PO – Sonamani Sipai Para, Distt- West Tripura. The function was inaugurated by the Chief guest Vijay Kumar, DIGP (Adm), Tripura Sector, CRPF Agartala in the presence of Mukesh Tyagi, Commandant-124 BN, Other officers of 124 BN, CRPF as well as other dignitaries. Sources said that a large numbers of local people were also present in this programme. Wreath laying ceremony had also been done. Onwards now the people of the state will recollect his great sacrifice through this road caption for ever.
