Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of May 2026 : A serious road accident on Sunday afternoon in front of the busy ISBT area in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, created panic among locals. The incident occurred around 2:55 PM near the railway gate, where a Pulsar bike (Reg. No. TR 05 A 9976) collided head-on with a scooter (Reg. No. TR 05 F 5861).
Due to the impact, both riders sustained severe injuries on the spot. Local residents immediately informed the Dharmanagar Fire Service, and firefighters promptly reached the scene, rescued the injured, and rushed them to Dharmanagar District Hospital.The injured have been identified as scooter rider Shubha Das (25) and bike rider Sujit Deb (34), both residents of the Kameshwar area. According to hospital sources, both are undergoing treatment, but the condition of biker Sujit Deb is extremely critical. Doctors stated that he suffered a severe head injury, and efforts are underway to save his life.
Meanwhile, the rising number of road accidents in and around Dharmanagar has become a matter of serious concern. Especially in densely populated and high-traffic areas, the importance of following traffic rules and driving cautiously has once again come to the forefront. Even a moment of negligence can lead to tragic consequences, experts warn.
