Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of May, To expedite the widening of the Assam-Agartala National Highway (NH-08), a special meeting was held yesterday at the Mohanpur Gurukul Community Hall under the Jirania sub-division. State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury attended the meeting and emphasized that it was organized to address land-related issues hindering the national highway expansion. “The number of vehicles on the road is increasing every day. Therefore, widening the national highway has become imperative,” he stated. He also noted that with a well-planned and safe road system in place, significant progress could be made in both the economic and transportation sectors of the state. Transport Minister urged local residents, traders and all stakeholders to cooperate for the overall development of the state.

Among others present at the meeting held yesterday were West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate Santi Ranjan Chakma, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate Animesh Dhar, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, social worker Ranjit Roy Chowdhury, officials of various departments associated with the concerned department, local residents, businessmen. In addition, officials of the concerned agencies engaged in the work of expanding the national highway were present.
