A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Tripura Government, Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) on Tuesday (15th February, 2022) for development and maintenance of an Inland Water Transport (IWT) Terminal at Srimantapur near Sonamura, Tripura. Hon’ble Union Ports, Shipping, Waterways and Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Hon’ble Agriculture, Transport & Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, other officials and dignitaries were present in the MoU signing programme at the state guest house, Agartala.

Under the guidance of Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the double engine government is committed to the development of transportation facilities of the state. These newly developed transport routes will further strengthen #Tripura’s position as the gateway to the North East.
