Silver Jubilee Celebration of International Mother Language Day.

Agartala, Tripura, 21st of February, 2025 : With the initiative of Education Department celebrated International Mother Language Day at Town Hall, Agartala on Friday (21st February, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.  International Mother Language Day is observed annually on February 21st. The year 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of International Mother Language Day.

“Even in the present era of globalization, the mother language has considerable importance. The mother language is the identity of any nation. No nation can ever prosper by ignoring the mother .nguage. This year marks the 25th anniversary of International Mother Language Day being celebrated worldwide.” , Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said at the celebration ceremony of International Mother Language Day.

“Mother language and motherland are matters of utmost respect. No nation can progress by forgetting these. A child first learns his mother language from his mother. It is through his mother language that a person can express his thoughts in a simple way.”,  the Agriculture minister said,

Therefore, today everyone should take an oath to enrich their mother language and enrich other languages ​​as well. The Agriculture Minister also added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also introduced a new national education policy giving importance to the mother language. The State Government has also taken efforts to protect all the languages ​​of the state by giving equal importance to them.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Padma Shri Former vice-chancellor of Tripura University Arunoday Saha, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs department Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder, State Cultural Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, Director of School Education Department NC Sharma, Director of Tribal Research and Cultural Centre Ananda Hari Jamatia and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
