Agartala, Tripura, 30th of June 2026 : Hon’ble Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy has urged the public representatives and officials to deliver the benefits of various central and state government schemes to the common people during a review meeting of the West Tripura Zila Parishad held today at the State Guest House. At the review meeting various decisions taken at the general meeting of the Zila Parishad were discussed. Members and officials of different departments presented their opinions on different Issues

At the meeting the Social Welfare and Social Education Minister enquired about the progress and status of different projects. He also gave his advice on how to go about various issues and implement various developmental projects.

The representative of education department informed that Balika Manchas have been formed in different schools and the minister advised the officials to form Balika Mancha in rest of the schools. It was also informed that self-defense training has been started in different schools for the girl students. Efforts are being made to cover all the girl students under this programme. Discussion was also held on Balika Samriddhi Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana etc. schemes. Other issues coming up for review included Divyangjan welfare, agriculture, power, PWD, rural development, health, drinking water related issues.

The review meeting was attended by the acting Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zila Parishad Biswajit Shil, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, secretary of the social welfare and social education department Tapan Kumar Das, chairmen of Panchayat Samitis, members of the Zila Parishad and officials of various departments.
