Sonamura, 8th of May 2026 : On the basis of secret information Sonamura police, in joint operations with Srimantapur BSF, and Dhanpur BSF recovered and seized total seized total-90 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja), at Sonamura under Sepahijala District on Friday (8nd May 2026) early morning.
According to sources, Sonamura Police Station in joint operations with Srimantapur BSF, and Dhanpur BSF recovered and seized total seized total-90 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja), into 45 nos packets which covered by black colour cellotape, as unclaimed.
After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be 18 Lakh only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
