Sonamura, Tripura, 11th of September, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, in joint operations with 81th BN BSF conducted raid and search and recovered 27 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) at Batadola, UNC Nagar border road side under Sonamura Police Station on Friday (11th September, 2026) last night.
According to Sonamura PS during patrolling duty at Batadola, UNC Nagar border road side recovered and seized total- 27 Kg,s dry ganja as unclaimed. After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed. And Sonamura police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these items.
In this regard one specific case registered at Sonamura ps under NDPS act.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be 2 Lakh.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station gave details about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
