Agartala, Tripura, 23rd of October, 2025 : 24-hour Statewide strike in Tripura on Thursday (23rd October, 2025), called by Tripura Civil Society organization. Infront of North Gate, Swami Vivekananda Ground (Astabal Ground) premises, Agartala, Tripura, Tripura Civil Society organization and TIPRA Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma led a protest.
Leaders of Tripura Civil Society protest march, blocked rail line, appealing to shopkeepers to join the shutdown in various areas. Several trains have been cancelled. As a result of the road blockade, many vehicles were stuck on the road and people suffered a lot.
Normal life was not impacted in most parts of the Agartala city areas due to a state-wide strike. In the State-Wide Strike private buses, autos, rickshaws, shops, trucks operated as usual in the city areas.
Violent clashes incident in several places due to 24- hour strike. According to sources, Abhijit Majumdar (BDO, Salema), Engineer Animesh Saha and residents were injured in violent attack protesters in Santirbazar, Dhalai District.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha strongly condemned the violent attacked.
“We strongly condemn the violent attack by TIPRA Motha supporters on Shri Abhijit Majumdar (BDO, Salema), Engineer Shri Animesh Saha, and residents of Santirbazar, Dhalai District. Such acts of violence are unacceptable. The administration is directed to take swift and strict action against those responsible.” – Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha tweeted.
Hon’ble MP and Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also strongly condemned the violent attacked.
“I strongly condemn the attack on Shri Abhijit Majumdar (BDO, Salema), Engineer Shri Animesh Saha, and other residents of Santirbazar, Dhalai District in the name of a Democratic demonstration. Strict action should be taken against those who organised such heinous incidents in the name of democratic protest. Such violence will never be tolerated. I strongly condemn such an incident.”, Hon’ble MP And Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted.
