Union Home Minister And Minister Of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah Lays the foundation stone of Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel.

Agartala, Tripura, 5th of June 2026 : With the initiative of Tourism Department Government of Tripura organized laying foundation event of Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel in collaboration with the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) of the Tata Group at Pushpabanta Palace, Agartala, Tripura on Friday (5th June, 2026).

As a historic step towards the development of the tourism industry in the State. Lease agreement was signed between Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) of the Tata Group for the development of Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel, as a new step towards the development of Tripura.  The lease agreement was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister at Pushpabanta Palace, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (20th May, 2025).

In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Union Home Minister and minister of Cooperation Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel at Kunjaban, Agartala, Tripura today (5th June, 2026).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the ceremony by participating in the Bhoomi Pujan rituals for the hotel project. Subsequently, he unveiled the commemorative plaque marking the foundation of the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel before an audience of distinguished guests.

CEO of Indian Hotels Company Limited Puneet Chhatwal extended his greetings to the Home Minister. A short documentary showcasing the vision and development plans of the Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel was also presented during the event.

The Taj Pushpabanta Palace Hotel will house 89 standard guest rooms, 6 executive rooms, 5 executive suites, and a luxurious presidential villa. Additional facilities will include a banquet block, ballroom, meeting halls, restaurant, swimming pool, and other modern conveniences.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Department of Tourism U.K. Chakma, Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Minister Santana Chakma, Prodyut Manikya Kishore Deb Barma, other Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event.
