Agartala, Tripura, 29th of June 2026 : Hon’ble Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi, who is on a visit to Tripura, inspected several state government projects related to the welfare of women and children in Agartala on Monday (29th June, 2026). As part of her visit, the Union Minister inspected Girls Unit-2 of the Child Care Institution at Abhoynagar, the Saksham Anganwadi Centre, and the ongoing construction work of housing facilities for working women.
During her visit to the Child Care Institution, Annpurna Devi interacted with officials and inquired about various aspects related to the education and overall development of children residing there. Later, at the Saksham Anganwadi Centre, she reviewed issues related to pre-primary education and the facilities being provided to children. The Union Minister also handed over a cheque of Rs. 50,000 to a beneficiary, Reshmi Saha, under the Chief Minister’s Balika Samriddhi Yojana. She subsequently inspected the construction work of the working women’s hostel project and participated in a tree plantation programme.
Speaking to reporters after the visit, Annpurna Devi appreciated the efforts of the Tripura government in promoting the welfare of women and children. She stated that the state government is undertaking commendable initiatives and assured that these successful measures would be highlighted at the central level.
Hon’ble State Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Special Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department T.K. Das, along with other departmental officials, were present during the Union Minister’s visit.
