Road Accident : Two Dead, One Injured In Bike-Car Head-On Collision In Khowai.

Khowai, Tripura, 8th of September, 2026 :  A tragic road accident took place on Tuesday (8th September, 2026) evening under the Baijalbari Police Station area of Khowai district when a motorcycle and a car collided head-on. Three people were involved in the accident, of whom two succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital. Another person is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.

According to local sources, at around 6 PM today, three people were travelling on a motorcycle when it collided head-on with a car coming from the opposite direction. Due to the impact of the collision, the motorcycle went directly underneath the car.

After witnessing the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and informed the Fire Services. Afterwards Fire Services personnel rescued the injured from the accident site and took them to Khowai District Hospital for treatment.

After providing initial treatment, the doctors on duty at the hospital declared two individuals, identified as Biswajit Saontal and Biswajit Munda, dead. Meanwhile, another person, identified as Tapan Gowala, is undergoing treatment in a critical condition. His condition is reported to be serious.

The tragic accident has cast a shadow of grief over the area. Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.jt
