Dharmanagar, Tripura, 23rd of April 2026 : Serious allegations of financial irregularities have surfaced regarding multiple development projects carried out during the BJP-led coalition government at the Mahaprabhu Ashram located in Ward No. 5 of Bilthai Gram Panchayat under the jubarajnagar constituency. Vaishnav Bhubesh Das of the ashram has repeatedly raised these concerns, drawing the attention of the administration and presenting detailed accounts before the media.According to the allegations, a pond excavation project was undertaken on approximately 1.5 gandas of land by the Panisagar Agriculture Department.

However, the excavation depth is reportedly only around 1.5 to 2 feet, while an expenditure of ₹1.8 lakh has been officially recorded and displayed on a signboard.Additionally, in the case of land leveling work behind the ashram, it is alleged that work worth around ₹30,000 was carried out, but an expenditure of ₹2,90,202 has been shown. There are also claims that despite the ashram having its own land, soil was sold to a neighboring individual, raising questions about the role of the Panchayat authorities.
Furthermore, although a signboard indicates funds allocated for drain construction along the roadside for the ashram, there are serious doubts about the actual progress of the work. The most sensational allegation involves the community hall. It is reported that the main structure was completed two years ago using MLA development funds. Later, construction of a round veranda began with funds from the Zilla Parishad, but irregularities have been alleged in that work as well. Trees from the ashram premises were reportedly cut and used for constructing the veranda roof. Despite assurances given to the Vaishnav community, compensation for those trees has yet to be paid.At present, the community hall remains incomplete.
Bhubesh Das has demanded through the media that the construction of the community hall be completed at the earliest and that a fair investigation be conducted into all works, including pond excavation, land leveling, and veranda construction. This incident has once again raised serious concerns in the area regarding the lack of transparency and accountability in rural development projects.
