Bishop Inaugurated New Church In Athambhagya.

Amarpur, Tripura, 17th of October 2025 : In presence of many Agartala diocese dignitaries and locals inauguration and blessing of St.Peter Catholic Church in Athambhagya village under Amarpur parish in Gomati Tripura has been inaugurated by Bishop Lumen Monteiro.

A day of joy and gratitude filled the hearts of the faithful devotees in Athambhagya village, one of the substation of Amarpur Parish has gained a beautiful church to worship. This newly constructed St. Peter Catholic Church has appeared as a great boon for the locals which will lead them into light of life . The momentous occasion was held under the guidance and leadership of Rev. Fr. Lijeesh Mathew, MSFS, the Parish Priest of Amarpur.

The inauguration ceremony was buzzing with devotees who trust Jesus is the savour of all nations. Amidst the other distinguished programme participants Rev. Fr. Sabu Francis MSFS, the Provincial of the Guwahati Province, officially inaugurating the new church. This was followed by the blessing of the church by Most Rev. Lumen Monteiro CSC, DD, the Bishop of Agartala Diocese, after which the Holy Eucharistic celebration took place. More than 300 faithful devotees from various villages, along with several priests, religious sisters, and well-wishers, took active participation in this solemn celebration. The event marked a significant milestone for the Molsom community, who expressed their deep joy and gratitude for receiving this new house of worship.

The faithful acknowledged this day as a God-given blessing, made possible through the dedicated efforts of Rev. Fr. Lijeesh Mathew MSFS, and the support of the MSFS Guwahati Province. The community extended heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to make this dream a reality.
