Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Unveiled The Bronze Statue Of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.

Agartala, 10th of March 2024 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha unveiled the Bronze Statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport on Sunday (10th March, 2024).

“The contribution of the Maharaja to the overall development of the State was long neglected. Earlier the contribution of Maharaja was not recognized as such. After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister and the current Government was installed in the State, the Maharaja are being duly honored in recognition of their contribution to the development of the State.” Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the Unveiling ceremony of statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. 35 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of this statue.

The Chief Minister also added that, Agartala Airport has a long history of traffic. Earlier this airport was popularly known as Singerbhil Airport. This airport was small in size. Gradually the range of this airport increased. There are many flights currently in operation. About 4 thousand passengers travel through this airport every day. The Government has taken all measures to make the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport an international airport soon. The Chief Minister said that when the passengers from outside the state come to the State and appreciate the beauty of this beautiful airport, they feel proud as citizens of the State. He said that as a result of the sincere approach of the Prime Minister, there has been a lot of improvement in the national highway, air, internet, waterway and rail communication system in the state.

Director of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport KC Meena delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Secretary of Transport Department Uttam Kumar Chakma, Transport Commissioner Uttam Mandal, Additional Secretary of Transport Department Subrata Choudhury and many other dignitaries were present in the unveiling ceremony.
