Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of April 2026 : The northern bank of the iconic Boro Dighi at Amrakunj, the cultural heart of Dharmanagar, once again came alive with a vibrant celebration of the Bengali New Year through the grand “Hridaye Boishakh.” Continuing a legacy of nearly 15 years, the event was organized this year as well by Sanskar Bharati, North Tripura District Committee. Held on Thursday as a day-long program, the celebration turned into a lively cultural gathering. Eminent artists, poets, writers, painters, journalists, and culture enthusiasts from different parts of the town actively participated, making the event both meaningful and memorable.

The air of Amrakunj resonated with joy as music, recitations, dance performances, and various cultural presentations marked the arrival of the new year.In an interaction, Sandeep Nath, in-charge of North, Unakoti, and Dhalai districts for the cultural organization Sanskar Bharati, stated that the event is not merely about entertainment, but has evolved into a traditional social festival of Dharmanagar. He emphasized that such gatherings at the beginning of the Bengali year strengthen the bonds of harmony and brotherhood among people.The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s North District Pracharak Pradip Debbarma, noted social worker Jahar Chakraborty, social worker Kajal Das, along with several distinguished personalities and representatives from the cultural sphere. The presence of teachers from various music institutions further enriched the program.
