International Women’s Day, 2023 Celebrated At Muktadhara Auditorium Hall, Agartala.

With the initiative of Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura has been celebrated State Level International Women’s Day, 2023 ceremony at Muktadhara Auditorium Hall, Agartala on Tuesday (14th March, 2023). In the presence of dignitaries Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy has inaugurated the State Level International Women’s Day, 2023 ceremony by lighting the lamp.   

“Women today are not only independent, women are also leading the society, Today girl students are doing well in CBSE or UPSC. Women in the country are advancing day by day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many schemes undertaken by the State Government have prioritized women. Earlier in our state only 9th class SC and ST girl students were given bicycles, after this Government came, it was decided that all the girls of class IX will be given bicycles. Bicycles have been given to 99,000 female students in the last 5 years”, Hon’ble Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Tinku Roy said at inaugural ceremony of the State Level International Women’s Day. The SW & SE Minister also added that, the society should be more aware to prevent domestic violence. Not only the Government but also various clubs, social organizations and NGOs should come forward.

Social Welfare & Social Education presented these awards to Little chess Arshiya Das, who received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purashkar from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi in 2021, and Puhavi Chakraborty, who received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purashkar for field of Innovation from this Ministry in 2022 handed over the  Hon’ble Minister Tinku Roy. Social Welfare & Social Education secretary Tapas Roy delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder and dignitaries were present at the ceremony.​
