Khagendra Debnath Martyrs’ Day Observed In Kalyanpur.

Khowai, Tripura, 26th of July 2026 : Twenty-two years ago, on 26 July 2004, Kalyanpur lost one of its fearless voices, Khagendra Debnath, who was killed while dedicating himself to the welfare of society and the people. Remembered for his courage and commitment, he stood as a strong voice against injustice and exploitation. His contribution and sacrifice continue to be recalled by people as a symbol of dedication and service.

The BJP-led government in Tripura has been observing 26 July as Martyrs’ Day in memory of Khagendra Debnath, paying tribute to his sacrifice and recalling his role as a dedicated leader who worked for the welfare of the people.

BJP Tripura Pradesh President Abhishek Deb Roy unveiled the marble statue of martyr Khagendra Debnath at the Old Market area of Kalyanpur-Dauchhara as part of the Martyrs’ Day observance. The ceremony was held to honour the memory and sacrifice of Khagendra Debnath and pay tribute to his contribution towards society.

At the unveiling ceremony, rally was conducted in memory of martyr Khagendra Debnath, where leaders and party workers paid tribute to his sacrifice and discussed his life, contributions, and legacy in detail.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Tripura Pradesh President Abhishek Deb Roy launched a strong attack on the previous Left Front government, criticising its policies and governance. MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, District BJP President Samir Kumar Das, and other speakers also expressed similar views while highlighting their concerns over the Left regime.
