Khowai Women’s Police Arrests Accused In College Student Harassment Case.

Khowai, Tripura, 28th of July, 2026 : According to the complaint, Bedabrata Gupta (40), a resident of Sonatala area under Khowai Police Station, allegedly made an obscene proposal to and harassed a female college student from the same locality.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family at the Khowai Women’s Police Station, police registered a case. Acting on the complaint, officers of the Women’s Police Station arrested the accused on Monday (27th July, 2026).

Interacted with media Officer-in-Charge of the Khowai Women’s Police Station Meena Debbarma, said that multiple sections of the law have been invoked against the accused. She added that the arrested individual will be produced before the court on Tuesday. The OC also briefed the media on the details of the case and the action taken by the police.
