Bollywood actress Ruchi Gujjar grabbed global attention with her regal Rajasthani ghoonghat-inspired look, using it as a symbolic protest against the age-old practice of forcing women into veiling traditions.
Dressed in a stunning pink traditional lehenga adorned with intricate silver zari embroidery, along with authentic Rajasthani jewelry and a sheer ghoonghat, Ruchi beautifully celebrated Indian culture and heritage while also questioning whether traditions should suppress a woman’s identity and voice. Hailing from Rajasthan herself, Ruchi said, “I did not wear the ghoonghat to stay silent, but as a form of protest. Women deserve respect through equality, confidence, and freedom.”
