Agartala, Tripura, 17th of June 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Sunday (15th June, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested three (3) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 16.560 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Sunday at about 7 PM to catch three persons namely (1) Md. Irfan (19) S/O Md Alam vill- Chouka Fathepur PO- Fatepur PS- Sabour Bhagalpur Bihar (2) Amit Kumar (37) S/O Lt Nagina Ray Vill- Makhdum Pur PO- Ghegta PS- Musassil PS, Saran Bihar (3) Md Zeeshan ( 19) S/O Md Imran of Shajangi Mela Maidan PO- Habipur PS- Habipur, Bhagalpur Bihar at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01 in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 16.560 Kg of suspected to be contraband narcotic Ganja in their bags respectively.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 3 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly Railway Police arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP040, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
