
Dharmanagar, Tripura, 17th of June 2026 : A pall of grief has descended over Dharmanagar following the demise of Pranabesh Das, popularly known as Rana Das, a resident of the Rajbari area in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, and a former teacher of Lalchhara Secondary School. He breathed his last on Monday while undergoing treatment at GB Cancer Hospital in Agartala. He was 54 years old.
Pranabesh Das served for many years as one of the 10,323 graduate teachers. Throughout his teaching career, he was known as a dedicated, sincere, and student -friendly educator. Students and colleagues alike remembered him as an honest, hardworking, and compassionate teacher. According to family sources, he became mentally distressed after losing his job.
Later, he suffered a brain hemorrhage, and during treatment, he was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a prolonged battle with illness, he passed away on Monday.He is survived by his wife, mother, one son, and one daughter. His death has cast a deep shadow of sorrow over his family, relatives, colleagues, and the local community.It is noteworthy that Pranabesh Das was associated with the movement of the 10,323 teachers. His demise has prompted expressions of grief among those connected with the movement. Local residents believe that with his passing, Dharmanagar’s educational community has lost a devoted and committed teacher.
